Music for the Community
Maria Moon Music’s mission is to bring engaging and meaningful direct music experiences to it's community of resident families, children and vulnerable people, focusing on greater equity and inclusiveness in music learning. We deliver educational, exploratory and fun, high-quality music sessions—blending classical and contemporary education styles—that foster emotional connection, support neurodiversity, and inspire personal growth. Our specialist teachers use creative tools and incorporate MAKATON sign language to ensure that everyone, including neurodiverse children, or people with delay in language acquisition, are seen, heard and can participate fully.

We work closely with parents, caregivers, local charities, social enterprises, alternative school provision and government, to make music accessible and impactful for all ages and backgrounds, building lifelong musical skills during the crucial early years of development.

We believe everyone deserves quality music education. That’s why we create inclusive, energetic, and creative sessions that nurture well-being and a lifelong love of music, especially for those who need it most.

Singing is Joyful
Singing is very good for you and bring everyone together! We deliver singing sessions which are educational, engaging and make a positive impact in our wellbeing. The experience of group singing improves self esteem, lowers anxiety, increases confidence and has an overall positive impact on your mental health because it is an activity that demands being mindful of the present.
The social aspects of Singing are known to reduce isolation, promote a sense of community and wellbeing in all who participate. It's fun , increases our musicality and gives us joy!
We strive to sing folk, traditional, classical and world pieces that are as diverse and inclusive as possible for all who sing with us.
Our team encourages and nurtures singing choir performances from any age group at different stage of our lives and in diverse setting, such as church halls, outdoors or in community spaces.
It's About Making Music Matter in Our Lives
By increasing access to instrumental playing, educational social sessions, music events, community workshops, artistic experiences and musically enriched learning opportunities we foster broader community participation and inclusion. Our work strengthens connections between educators, carers, volunteers, artists, audiences, and local organizations, helping to build a dynamic and supportive cultural network in Southend-on-Sea and Essex
